Getafe defender Dani Carvajal has commented on speculation linking former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos with a move to the La Liga club, revealing that the experienced centre-back remains open to offers.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing AS, Carvajal confirmed that he had spoken directly with Ramos about his future and the possibility of joining Getafe.
"I agree that you have to decide for yourself when to stop playing and when to stop experiencing those feelings. Either when your body tells you it can't go on anymore, or when you lose the desire to train every morning," Carvajal said.
The Spanish defender also reflected on his own career, explaining how injuries and a lack of consistency had affected his motivation.
"The injury I suffered almost a year ago, followed by a lack of stability, made me want to rediscover the joy of playing that I used to feel. That was the key factor in making me want to continue my career," he explained.
Carvajal then addressed the possibility of reuniting with Ramos at Getafe.
"I spoke with Sergio Ramos. He told me that our team is in a difficult situation because we already have five or six centre-backs. He will continue preparing in case a suitable opportunity arises. He is open to the transfer market if something interesting comes along. Ramos is an absolute beast when it comes to training and preparation," Carvajal added.
Ramos, who turned 40 in March, has been without a club since leaving Mexican side Monterrey in January 2026.
The former Spain international enjoyed the most successful period of his career at Real Madrid, where he spent 16 seasons and won five La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies.
He also represented Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Mexico.
Despite his age, Ramos has shown no indication that he intends to retire, with his commitment to physical preparation keeping the possibility of another move alive.
